Breaking the barriers of the past (Keumsung. High school 2nd)
Every four years, the world's attention furns to the summer Olympic Games, Nowadays, it is funny to think that only a few decades ago, track-and-field experts pompously declared that no runner could break the four-minuite mile breaker. Ostensibly, a human being couldn;'t run that far, that fast, in that length of time. Experts conducted all sorts of complex studies to show it was impossible to beat four minuite-barrier. And for years, they were right. Nobody ever ran a mile in less than four minutes.
But one day a young man came along who didn't believe the expert opnions. He didn't do well on the impossiblities. He refused to let all those negative words from a strong hold in his mind. He began to change, believing he was going to break that record. Sure enough, he went out one day and broke the four-minuite mile barrier. He did what the expert said couldn't be done. His name was Roger Bannister, and he made sports history.
